Animations are the technique of photographing successive drawings or positions of puppets or models to create an illusion of movement when the film is shown as a continual sequence.

*Interactive Media

Interactive Media  is a method of communication in which the output from the media comes from the input of the user (user participant). The media still has the same purpose but the users input adds interaction and brings interesting features to the system for better enjoyment.

What do films entail?

Films entail the development, pre-production, production, post-production, and distribution process. All of these processes help to make a film and everything is nicely prepared for shooting.

What different forms/areas do films cover?

Films cover the camera department art department, CD department, Casting director, the Director, the Executive producer and regular producer.

What are the legal and ethical issues/requirements?

The vital legal and ethical issues/requirements to consider (especially for independent films) are the Contracts, Health & Safety,  Locations, Copyrights &Clearances, Consent Forms and International Issues. Establishing these are very important before and after the film production.

What job roles and career opportunities are available?

There are numerous job roles and career oppotunities available for films/film industry, some of them being Film Director, Film Producer, Lighting Technician, Location Manager, Sound Technician, VFX Artist, Hair & Make-Up Artist, Writer, Animator and Actor/Actress.

What qualifications are required to work in film?

The qualifications required for working in film are to get a degree in Drama and Theatre, Video Editing and Film Production.

What are the required key skills for film?

The few of many required skills for film are, knowledge of English Language, Leadership Skills, Be Flexible and Open to Change, Able to work under pressure and paying attention to detail.

What are the common types of employment?

The common types of employment are Employee, Self-Employed, Worker, Home-Working, Apprenticeship & Internship. 

What is expected in terms of professional behaviour?
(Appearance, Time-Keeping, Reliability, Managing Workload, Maintaining skills, Contribution to Projects and Communication Skills)

In terms of professional behaviour, If your an Actor/Actress then in regards to the appearance you will be sorted by the Hair, Make-Up and Costume Department which are a team of professionals who know exactly what they're doing to achieve a specific look for the role.

In regards to time, it is important to stay flexible and adapt to changes of time and to be very reliable so that there isn't any issues etc. It is important that they take time out for the pick up scenes. Also film production can take ages from months to years and so it is important that everybody involved is aware of this.

There are different parts of the team handing different parts of the production process so the workload can happen efficiently and fairly fast. In order to do this in the best possible way the workers should continue to use and maintain their skills and take initiative. The team have walkie-talkies and each others contact numbers so that there are no issues in regards to communications. Everyone must be updated on what's going on.
